I got a good result for forecasting quantitative precipitation using linear multiple regression technique along with forward selection scheme .But a Journal (don’t want to mention the name of the journal)has rejected the paper because of the method used is too old to apply. It is not clear to me . Where is the problem if using some old method I get a new result?
The only valid objection they might make could concern the lack of innovation.
That could mean that preexisting publications have already used the method with similar results.
Don't worry too much. Rejection mat happen. Why do you not post a preprint on researchgate? The people mat comment and you will get feedback
