I have a sensor made up of fiber with a convex lens at the fiber tip. I want to test for refractive index measurement. By having the lens, what will the response be? better in sensitivity? Is it important to have the lens? Thank you

The applications of a convex lens at the fiber tip can be:
1) To increase light collection.
2) Decrease light divergence.
3) Coupling.
