Our lab has used the LC/MS(LCQ-Deca XP,Thermo, it is still working condition and not walking with PC).
LC(Shiseido) is working as stand alone now. Recently, it disconnect to MSD.
MSD is not working because of PC and ionization problems.
So. I'd like to use MS as part unit.
My lab has QMS to anlaysis 100 amu gas analysis and another GC/MS.
QMS system is simple; turbo molecule pump with controller(not possible to control with PC), Vacuum gauge, QMS detector with PC controll and data recording
So, Is it possible to above mentioned QMS system with using LCQ-Deca XP MS part unit? I mean using turbo melecule pump as stand alone or using other controller, MSD only for data.
Anyway, if I dismantle the LC/MSD, which part unit possible to reuse in the other system.
Since you are asking about this, I will assume you have little knowledge of how these different types of mass spectrometers operate or are used (Ion traps, EI and Quadrapoles are completely different detectors). Each part was engineered for a specific purpose and application. This includes the communication interface (which you state does not work). Most parts from different vendors or models are not compatible. It sounds like you are asking if you can just "hook" up parts that were not designed to work together and create an MS system. That does not seem very likely.
One exception. The HPLC portion has nothing to do with the MS. If the HPLC module still works and you are able to communicate and control it with the correct software, then you should be able to use the LC as a standalone system with any compatible detector module.

I am fully agree with William, you have completly different mass spectometer, this mass analyser is very specify and work in specific conditions of vaccum and eletrical current. You are trying use parts of a mass spectrometer in couple with liquid chromatograph in a mass spectrometer couple with gas chromatograph, this is not possible.
