Our economy, at global scale is mostly based in fossil fuels ⛽. Most of the car manufacturing industries are working on fossil fuel based technology. In this scenario it is possible to entirely shift on renewable energy resources, especially solar energy? Or, the shift to renewable resource is continued, but a sudden shift is not feasible economically?
A sudden shift is certainly not economically feasible especially as we currently have lots of existing systems designed to run on fossil based fuel.
It is not feasible to abandon fossil fuel completely and face renewable/solar energy for now but will gradually and naturally phase out with advancement, acceptance and application of technological development
it is a question of defining your word "entirely"
for me entirely is till 2050: I say yes, it is POSSIBLE (for 80%-90% of all processes, applications, energy system, materials etc.)
if your "entirely" is tomorrow: I am scared about the consequences!
It is good that gradual shift is already in progress. Looking into global environmental problems, there is a need to accelerate this process. Didtrubance in global economy will also be a problem. There is a need to allocate different energy resources to different sectors. In this way we may be able to accommodate solar or other renewable energy in our oil based economy.
It is high time to think about such an alternative. Sooner ot later, fossil fluels will be exhausted. We have thus conmulsorily find alternate sources of energy.
