If someone publish research papers in open accessed journals. Collect and compile papers in sequence on the same theme and publish that in the form of a book. This will come under self plagiarism or not?

Yes! it is laudable. I have witnessed a lot of books made from the compilation of peer-reviewed article published by professors locally and internationally.

It is always legal to review with reference any type of published work whether open access or not. But it is not legal to cut and paste statements from any paper.

Hi Abdul, copy and paste from your own papers should not be plagiarism (the most naive example is Methods; why change a word if the method is exactly the same?).
Anyways, in Open Access publishing you retain all rights as you pay for them, plus you pay to allow others to have free access.
It would be like a journalist that publishes a book with compliation of his/her articles already appeared in newspapers.
I think it's okay if you get the permition from the journals and the co-authers.
yes, there are two possibilities either your published article are under CC 4.0 or you get permission from the article publisher whom you already published with proper citation.

You can compile/add in it in a review paper instead of book. which is more appropriate option.
OK, what I can understand from this whole discussion. It is legal to collect, re-arrange published articles in the form of a book, if I have written permission of all co-authors and editors. For this I have to ask the co-authors and the editors for No Objection Certificate (NOC). It will be not counted as self-Plagiarism.
You have to own the copyright and make the appropriate attribution, You also have to compile the subject matter into a form suitable for a book. A string of papers doesn't make a publishable book.
Hi Mary partially agree. A string of articles do make a publishable book in the journalism field. I do not "see" why it may be different in the scientific field.
I think there is no difficulty for compiling your open access papers, of course with permission of your coauthors. in such way you can publish them as a reveiw article or a book. I think by compiling of your article in the same field you may receive a general conclusion.
