I need to do time history analysis of transmission tower in abaqus. I had done it in SAP2000 but couldn't find a way to do it in abaqus. Can anybody help.
Hi,
Yes you can. http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~hormoz/me565/sp10/tutorials/dynamic_response_tutorial.pdf
You can sue tabular Load/Amplitude versus time in ABAQUS/Standatd or Explicit.
Thank you all for your reply.
what can i do to import an earthquake time history file which is acceleration Vs time.
Is there any other alternative?
thankyou all..
I copied time vs acceleration data in the tabular amplitude function under acceleration boundary condition. It is working. Is that correct?
Did you consider soil also? If yes, boundary conditions should be applied by creating artificial boundaries unlike sap2000.
