BSA conjugated FA treatment for cell culture is known. For triglycerols, most used method is dissolving TGs in ethanol and treating with it. But is it possible to get BSA complex of TGs or oil? As far as I know, carboxyl group of fatty acid is required for complex formation with BSA. In case of TGs, this carboxyl group is unavailable as it is used up in ester bond formation with glycerol backbone. So, complex of TG and BSA is not possible. Am I right? In that case what is another method to add TGs/oil to cell culture medium?
