Is it possible to do scratch test on micron layer coating in ANSYS ?

I am planning to do scratch test on the 50 micron layer of coating in ANSYS which is subjected to a normal load through a indenter. The indentor is moving parallel to the length of the coating.

Is it possible to do this in explicit dynamics in ANSYS?

Will erosion of the fractured particles occur ?

Please provide me the guidelines.

The numerical FEM solution of contact problem with friction for rigid sphere interacting with elastic-plastic thin layer adhered to substrate is possible, why not? You must concretize the model of substrate (rigid or elastic) which depending on relation of material combination. The non-symmetrical loading (tangential force) motivates 3D statement of contact problem.
