Looking for a collaborative hand to do large scale Biogas production from Sargassum (Brown Seaweed). I have identified and isolated Biogas from Sargassum long before. I can send you ppt and the video for your reference. After the anaerobic digestion the liquid extract can further fortified with lactobacillus to use as a liquid Biofertilizer.
So please i kindly request you to consider my request and hope you will do me the best.
We are a Seaweed company working abundantly with Seaweeds like Kappaphycus, Sargassum, Gracillaria (Salicornia). So i would like to use this Biomass for producing Biofuels - Economic importance for future.

Many years ago, my colleagues showed that biogas could be produced from Gracilaria residues. The key part of that research was the fact that Gracilaria is an important commercial source of agar, and that after extraction of the agar, the waste residues could be converted to methane-containing biogas.
Srinivasan: There are two pathways to produce biofuels from seaweeds: biochemical (fermentation) and thermochemcial (hydrothermal conversion). I'm wondering which pathway you are interested in. Thnaks. -Mark ([email protected])

Thats a valuable information and i will try to do some research on residues of Gracillaria. Actually i have found Biogas from brown seaweed. Need to find out what type of Gas was produced.

I have done with Biochemical (Fermentation) and looks naturally certain microorganisms were present in that seaweed and when introduced for fermentation it automatically starts ferment and producing Gas. Interested in Biochemical pathway.
