I am modeling crack initiation and progression at constituent level in carbon epoxy composites. I need to define epoxy elements as crack domain as I don't want the crack to propagate in the fiber elements. However, it seems the whole assembly is selected upon the choice of crack domain.
Has someone been able to define a geometry or element set as the crack domain in XFEM analysis?

When you create the XFEM crack and software ask you to "select the crack domain",
you can select "geometric faces" in the ribbon afterward the question, and then exactly on the right side you can choose stes.

For some reason, my predefined sets are not shown in the pop up box. Others have had the same problem. Have you personally selected a set for crack domain in your analysis?
