According to our research, we have found expression of miR-183-5p reduced in peripheral blood in patients with diabetic neuropathy, and ITGB1 is one of the targets of miR-183-5p. Therefore, its target should increase, but our research shows a reduced level of this gene.
In your opinion, why ITGB1 decreased in these patients? And is it possible?
I think one of the possible reasons is certain genes may be regulated by more than one uptream targets or miRNAs. Even though you can confirm the changes in the expression of miR-183-5p, but perhaps there are other miRNA which could affect ITGB1 expression.
miR targeting in general is way too complicated to be interpreted from just one miR and one gene.
Correct your question. You have to ask why ITGa4 gene expression increased, but the ITGB1 expression decreased? Given that they are both regulated by microRNA that you have studied. Gelayol Asadi
