After acceptance you typically have the chance to fix any remaining typographical errors, before it is finally published. If they do not allow that, then they are not the serious publishers I think they want to be.

With Elsevier, this is possible. You will be asked to fill a specific form. I guess that the IEEE provides the same option; it is better to contact the journal as soon as possible.
