Generally speaking, in works concerning contrastive analysis in general and/or comparison and contrast in particular, there is a need for a working model serving as a baseline. In investigating cross-cultural expression of emotions, prototypicality norms or political speeches, I have personally used a model and it always served my purpose. I was wondering why you don't believe in adopting models for doing contrastive analysis.
Well, for me, I do believe and I did it for my M.A. thesis, but the problem is with some figures who carry out such contrastive works without a model to follow. I only want to ensure about my belief. In other words, may I wrong about it??!! Finally, thank you very much for your contribution.
Yes you can adopt a model of analysis in contrastive studies even if it does not work on one side of your project. Indeed, here starts your creativity to add and remove certain items to make it suitable to your data. Good luck.
