Yes it is in principal. We have done this several times at our Institute. Design and simulation was done at the Institute, prototype manufacturing at a specific prototyping company, and test bench development was done at the facilities of the Institute. Depending on the size, the performance data and the level of technology, a complete internal engine development project may run for 1.5 to 2 years. After the prototype has been developed, the data can be handed over into a mass production development phase.
