I do not think so, the matrix biodiesel is soy oil, used or not. This oil on the palms, is less and more difficult to extract.

The oil palm tree is very popular in some ASEAN countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia). The extracted oil from oil palm can be used in biodiesel production. In Thailand, biodiesel is produced from palm oil and it is mixed with petroleum diesel to get B5 (5% biodiesel + 95% petroleum diesel) or B10 (10% biodiesel + 90% petroleum diesel). Thai government has had many good policies for studying and developing biodiesel production.
In comparison with petroleum diesel, biodiesel has proven many outstanding advantages, such as renewability, biodegradability, non-toxic for environment and high safety.
Up to now, biodiesel has not yet replaced completely for petroleum diesel, it only can use for blending with petroleum diesel as Andras Kovacs mentioned
