I have found the paper on parallel version of rate monotonic algorithm. So it should be possible to get parallel version of DM/EDF. I want conformation form some knowledgeable person on the same to start the M.Tech project on same line.

What is the motivation for parallelizing the scheduling algorithm? Are they computationally intensive?
What exactly do u mean by "parallelizing" in the context of scheduling? Are you assuming single or multiple queues, single or multiple processors? Which part of scheduling it is that u wish to parallelize?
Motivation behind parallelziing the scheduling algorithm like RM is: with more resources(core) I will be able to accommodate more task.Hence more scalability.
Manish, would using multiple queues, each corresponding to a different set of cores, be equivalent to paralleling the algorithm?
The issue then becomes that of how to assign jobs to the different queues, and how to ensure load-balanced distribution..
