We use a solution of ammonium hydroxide for pH control in pilot cultivations under sterile conditions and we never use ammonium hydroxide sterilization.
It is not necessary to strelize ammonium hydroxide solution. But, as it has been mentioned by Mr. Vit Mateju, It is necesary to add it under sterile conditions.
It depends, but most of the time it is not necesarry, especially if you use a 0.5M or 1M solution for the pH-adjustment (its alkalinity is so high basically no microorganism can sustain it, therefore it is pretty much unlikely that I'll be "infected"). However it is necessary and important to do the adjustment in a sterile environment.
