I am trying to make I2C communication via the NI USB 6009. Can you please help me out in providing any example VIs or libraries specially meant for I2C with 6009 and not 8452?
In my application the timing to read and write need not be too high. Here will the software clock work out by bit streaming?
Dear Fredrick, this is s general problem. You can use an RS232 to I2C convertor chip (or any other converter such as USB to I2C converter) to help you solve the problem. See this link below. Alternatively the USB8451 has an integrated I2C SPI interface

I have used an NI 6009 successfully for I2C communication. The 6009 actually has some nice bidirectional DIOs. But the I2C communication was made "manually" in Labview, i.e. not using the standard blocks that were later available in Labview. I think there are a couple of threads on the NI discussion forum on this.

you could use usb to I2C boards and communicate using VISA or if you want it to be real easy you could use arduino board and the arduino toolkit for labview to directly read and write to I2C. You will not be needing the 6009 for the above two solutions.

Yes I can use the i2c board and by visa it's possible I suppose but using arduino is not possible because in my application I can't use one more board or a card like arduino kit .
