Before I started worked in my current project, I believed that case control studies were a bad choice. I learned that it is not so bad, and indeed is better than its cohort counterpart. Could you tell me where this belief comes from?
Hi Hedley! Maybe this comes too late, I'm sure you've already looked into this. But there are pros and cons to conducting case-control studies, as well as cohort studies. I would have to know your research question, the prevalence of the outcome and main exposure to start answering whether a case-control or a cohort study is warranted. If you already have a cohort study set-up (I know Sweden is excellent at surveillance), you can always do a nested case-control study. Again, it all depends on your research question.
