Hello, I am doing an Ouabain resistance mutation assay and I have to use a concentration of 100nM. I'm struggling with determining how many grams I should use for my solution.
Would greatly appreciate any help!
Hello Victoria Quintana
Molecular weight of Ouabain is 584.6525 g/mol
Therefore 1M Quabain = 584.6525g in 1Litre solution.
So for 1 uM Quabain = 584.6525ug in 1Litre solution.
Therefore to make a 100nM Quabain solution in 1 Litre
584.6525ug x 100 nM / 1000nM = 58.46ug in 1 Litre
Which is 5.846 ug in 100ml solution.
If you are using Ouabain octahydrate, the molecular weight is 728.77 g/mol
Then in this case it will be 7.2877 ug in 100ml solution.
Best.
