Normally if the library of the university or research institute subscribed to the publications of the IUCr one had access to published works. The economic crisis, at least at the University of Valencia, whether that has affected access to crystallographic journals.

In the economic crisis affecting Spanish universities and research institutes to access through their libraries to journals of IUCr as was little less than 5 years ago it would be beneficial for students and researchers.
I think research gate has a bit contributed in solving this problem. If someone need a research that is not accessible for his/her institute, they can contact directly the authors on research gate.
In Egypt, we have the same problem. Me as a researcher studying abroad receive the requests of my colleagues in Egypt and try to download for them the needed articles.
