I want to test the performance of an CHI 832b electrochemical analyzer(nobody uses it in my lab, hence all the documents are lost). Basically I want to measure the famous cyclic voltammogram of Ferricyanide. But I can not recognize the clip for reference and working electrode which I couldn't even find on the internet. Can somebody please tell me the purpose of the five clips in the instrument: White, green, red, black and yellow?
I dont use the exact CHI model but we have several other models. They all have the same color codes so I would expect yours too to have the same pattern.
White: reference
Green: working
Red: counter

thanks a lot. This works. I could able to measure the cyclicvoltamogram of K4Fe(CN)6. But is it possible to measure the redox potential of a solution with respect to a reference(lets say calomel)? How?
If I understand correctly, you could use open circuit potential vs time technique. This will give you redox potential of solution if you use inert electrode and no curent is passing through.
Thanks Dejan. Do I need three electrodes (WE, RE, CE) or it can be done with WE and RE. I tried with only WE and RE to measure reduction potential of Ferrocyanide(Potential should be negative), but I got positive potential.
connect the RE and CE together on one electrode, then the WE on the other electrode. Run OCP measurement..I hope this helps.
