Does anyone know how to get the PROSITE database into a readable format for a Mac computer so I can take that information and put it into a custom annotation database and use that database to search for motifs? Searching for motifs in Geneious is such a pain. I don't want to have to punch in a specific motif. I want the program to search for all motifs for me. Right now, I'm having trouble getting the computer to read any file downloaded from the PROSITE website. I know that PROSITE.DAT is the data file but it is useless to me if neither my computer nor Geneious (or CLC Main Workbench and anything else, for that matter) can even open the file.
