Does anyone use 2,6-dichlorophenol indophenol as a redox indicator? I have bought this material from Merck company but it does not dissolve in water or produce blue color. In your opinion is this matter corrupt?
Hello Rezvan I hope you have purchased Sodium salt of ,6-dichlorophenol indophenol from Merck which is readily soluble in water. Kindly check the same... Good luck and best regards: Deepti
I wish I could answer your question, but I cannot. I do research in environmental bioremdiation field too. Maybe we understand our research each other somewhat.
Sodium 2,6-Dichlorophenol-indophenol dissolves in water easily and in oxidised form is blue in colour and colourless in reduced form. Just returned it to Merck and ask for another sample. Sometimes even well known chemical companies make mistakes.
