What is the suitable solvent to dissolve( nano α-Fe2O3 (hematite) in antibacterial tests? I used DMSO, but the nano particles were not well dissolved in it and were not homogeneous.
Kaushik Shandilya DMSO or DMF does not dissolve iron oxides. Concentrated HCl will dissolve iron oxide but this will give a solution and not particles.
I think that you mean disperse..for antibacterial tests the powders should be dispersed, so I think that water is the best disperdant. You should use ultrasonic probe to produce an homogeneous dispersion
