Human nature (especially children) resist restrictions. More you stop a child from something more is the possibility of the child doing it.
I ditto the comment of spending more time the child and give access as a common access.

The number of users is increasing every year, and Internet contents are richer and more varied. Dear @Darko, we should spend much more time with our children and we should speak with them about internet addiction, internet games addiction, social networks like FB... We should impact our children to spent much time outside (walk, cycling...) . We should present them a cases where internet/social network have made big problems to someone. Here is the problem of kidnapped girl in Belgrade. Police officials have issued a statement that picture of a girl was seen on Facebook and the false documents prepared though!

All rational persons agree that the internet is to be used & not to be abused. I think that the internet contains some dangerous elements that may harm the children as well as adults “who have little knowledge”. A ban on the free access to internet is totally futile since the young generation can move around any ban & negate its effects. Vigilance of the parents & teachers is necessary but cannot offer an optimal solution. There has to be a concerted effort to attract the children to other activities such as sports & competitions with worthy prizes besides serious efforts to make the children keener on their studies at schools.

Commenting on dear Professor Krishnan Umachandran's valuable contribution: This is a real story- In a certain 3rd world university, a lecturer left the first exam papers in his office inside a cupboard which has no locker. After giving the exam in the following day, he noticed that 2 students obtained full marks (20/20): one of them was fine but one of them was very weak. The 2 wrote on the same form of the exam (which has 2 forms). The lecturer immediately deduced that the very weak has bribed the service men to open the lecturer's office by their master key & to photo one exam form very fast using smart phones. Since the very weak cannot answer the questions, he needed the help of the "fine" student.
What the lecturer did, afterwards, was amazing. He did not keep the second exam & the final exam papers in his office, at all. The papers kept going with him to wherever he goes. This resulted in the failure of the very weak & it was a very good lesson to him & to all his confidential friends. The "fair" student got 61/100 (hardly passed).
Why the lecturer did not file a case against the 2 students? He did not have a material evidence ; all the lecturer has was deductive rational reasoning.
