As an academic, I have been through many events, some of which are joyful and some are sad. Despite this, the human mind is able to withstand shocks and adapt with them. So that the thing would I like always to remember is scientific friend who advise honestly, and gave me information truthfully even if he is less than me scientifically.
My final year practical examination of post graduate in my institute even after about forty years
I was particularly impressed that I read a job advertisement on the bulletin board for an assistant position at a university where I studied psychology that interested me so much that I sent an application there - although I was still a student and the Teachers College pedagogy exam and the university exam were still ahead of me. I didn't hear anything for a long time. Then I was asked to introduce myself. I had just passed both exams. Then I heard nothing for a long time. But then I received a telegram that I could immediately start there as an assistant. I was speechless with joy. Because it is very rare to get an assistant position at another university immediately after passing your academic exam. Of course, there was also a bit of luck, I think.
Returning to university after managing accounts for U.S. Army headquarters Europe Military Clothing stores (with a million dollar inventory I was responsible annually to audit) I was tired of statistics. The professor I assisted in teaching for stressed quantitative testing in theory building, and using mathematical formulas in describing qualitative phenomena, to pass his graduate course in theory building I practically had to memorize Dubin's 1978 book, Theory Building. NYC, NY: The Free Press. He was a U.S. Whitehouse speech advisor, Joe Ayers, a real boring and devious professor, always testing for your weakness, like a Marine Corps drill sergeant, and he was correct. Thanks to Prof. Ayers I can debunk or strengthen most any qualitative based theorizing since ultimately it must pass quantitative scrutiny and the test of the "null hypothesis" (Dubin, 1978)!

To realize some personal firsts in a peaceful working environment (first international publication, establishing paramedic program, being successful in associate professorship exam, first international award ....)
I like to always remember the first graduate student I supervised was something fun and very happy
I remember my doctorate, of course. There will be no one here who is not happy when he has overcome the final hurdles of this so long, laborious and sacrificial road. I was also pleased with my doctoral supervisor, who had been working at the university in question for 6 years. So far all candidates had run away from him, and something like that is getting around in the faculty, among colleagues. I was the first one who helped him to a small sense of achievement, obviously.
I never forget the moments of insight, when I figured out something I worked for a long or short time. I mean ideas that eventually turned out to be correct and recognized.

Achievements, what I mean by achievement is not those excellent performances for which the awards are given. It would be the memory of how much help and support I did give to the students and for the betterment of my people's education and moral and personality developments of the kids....
The day when i got my Ph.D Award in the year of 2011 with the guidance of my Professor But, my Parents are no more with me to see my growth. Only with their blessings and my hubby support i am moving towards in my career. Some of my student are in Editorial Board, Army, Entrepreneur, Banking Sector, Govt..When i saw them i feel pride of my profession.
Ensure that students understand the subject of the lesson, humane treatment with them, and fairness in dealing with them .

I remember the beginning when I started at the Technical University of Braunschweig. That was a rather turbulent time. The student movement was still very active. I also remember the end that I experienced at my own request in 2004. That was less conflictual.
Whenever I entered the classroom to give the lecture I remembered the professor's say in the preparatory stage of the master's stage, be our ambassadors as we were to our professors and this religion on the direction of my students I recommend them humility to others
Whatever his degree
In my academic life, I could remember of getting the highest degree Ph.D. This is good and memorable moment ad went joy and happy. The reason being, I am the youngest man in the department and I could work under a Professor, who has got International recognition. Because of this, I could get excellent publications, by working hard, day and night with experimentation and theoretical modeling along with my research supervisor in laboratory. I could proudly say that this is the way one has to pursue and do Ph.D.
I was very glad to receive my Master degree in Veterinary Public Health from All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, Calcutta (Kolkotta) in 1975 and later Ph.D. degree in 1981 and D.Sc. in 1988. It was a happy moment in my life when we could publish our first paper in a highly reputed International Journal in 1976. Since than, our academic graph is rising day by day by the kind blessing of God. Presently, we have over 610 publications, 9 books and several awards/prizes. I also had opportunities to work as a Visiting Scientist at New Zealand, Belgium, and Japan.
When you work in adacemia, life in Universities is probably full of lovely memories.

The exemption under the old university law, which applied in West Germany until 1977, gave university professors who had been appointed until then, after retirement all the rights to continue lecturing, conducting examinations and taking part in doctorates and habilitations (My appointment in Braunschweig was in 1975). Although a man no longer had the right to decide or advise on any personnel (staff and secretariat) and financial resources as a director of the institute, certain paths were kept open for further research at the university. For this reason, I was only able to write the most important of my books shortly before or after retirement.
I still remember the day when I was felicitated with " Distinguished Teacher Award " and " Life Time Achievement Award " for my academic achievements.
All those occasions which I have converted the challenges into opportunities. I would remember those memorable occasions rest of my academic life.
When I started giving a lecture anew, it was just the time of the student protest. But with me, the revolting students had no opportunity to make a "go in". I had only 3 individual students in the large lecture hall: one student listened, a second read a newspaper and a female student knitted. Unfortunately it was not always so idyllic. Later I had hundreds of students and had to correct their work.

In my academic life, I would alwsys remember way of doing my M.E. thesis work. Going to plant, collecting and analyzing data, consolidating the report, writing computer program, executing it, getting result, writing thesis are the things of hard work and this experience, which I would always remember.
I remember well that every time I gave an introductory lecture for freshmen, I would say to the female students, "Don't become a teacher, become a university teacher. That's easy and you get a bonus through the University law.

In my academic experience, I would always remember my first class of teaching. This was a very good class and more number of students eagerly waiting to listen my lecture. Initially with all full strength, happens to be my first class, made myself in mind and lecture completed in a stipulated time.
It was a very happy moment when I could publish my first book on "Zoonoses" in 1997 by the kind blessing of God.This was the First book in India that described many zoonotic diseases of varied etiologies. It took about four years to complete the writing of this unique book. This book was found very useful to the students, teachers, and researchers.
The ability to inspire the next generation and guide them was the biggest motivation. Doing it with love & care and without monetary considerations inspires the next generation to pass it forward.
In my academic life experience, I would always remember the moment and day the acceptance of my first International journal paper. I was thrilled and felt happy seeing the paper which I worked hard and at last I could make it. This was a good experience and that time, I felt as dream came true.
It was flooded with joy when I got my Ph.D. degree in 1981. I defended the open oral examination that took more than two hours. It was good to know that all the three examiners evaluated my research work excellent for the award of Ph.D.
From my academic life experience i learned to remind myself every single time that it is always possible. Like the Nike slogan says ‘Just do it.’ you have just to take the first step, just make that cold call, just send that letter, just apply for that company or university. Trying is always worth it. Impossible is just a word.
Meeting colleagues from different educational background and learning from them why they take a particular approach in trying to answer their research questions and understanding how to do their analysis.

I was very glad to know when Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi, India published my book on " Veterinary and Medical Mycology" in 2007. This was the First Book of its kind in India that delineates the growing importance of fungi in humans and in a wide variety of animals.The book contains over 100 photographs. The book was widely appreciated by the academicians.
To be successful in your profession you have to be humble first, to be up to date with the latest information in your field, and to ensure a successful relationship with your students through the exchange of respect and you will be close to them and help those who are going through a problem in his life.
