Generally, lipid nanoparticles have a higher capacity to encapsulate lipophilic molecules than other nanoparticles, however there are two types of lipid nanoparticles. which one to choose when encapsulating a drug?
Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) represent a relatively new colloidal drug delivery system, composed of physiological lipids that remain in a solid state at both room and body temperature. These particles are in the nano scale size range of 50–1000 nm. Lipid nanoparticles are frequently prepared from microemulsions, which are thermodynamically stable systems. Nanoparticles can be divided into two main families: nanospheres, which have a homogeneous structure across the particle, and nanocapsules, which exhibit a typical core-shell structure. For drug delivery, I think. nanocapsules are better.
That too depends upon the stability parameters of the drug, dosage required and the time of lipid molecules.
