RG is acting as an open access journal for most of good quality new publications, if any paper not freely available, we can request authors to provide the article of interest, but paying for publishing paper is not justifiable & who will pay. Doing good quality work also needs good amount of money. However, journals can relax the access of publications.
I think journal can not make it freely avilavle without publication fees. Some journal publication fees is very high ( over 3000-5000 USD). Fee can be within 1000 usd, funding authority can pay this fee. All of our active hand can be make publication freely accesable. There should also have alternative option for whom have no fund.
Yes I agree. Of course, all the journals. Some journals charge a fee for printing, which is a big hurdle. Some journals are fortunate to be sponsored and receive no funding from researchers, and this is a good move.
Free open access is very useful and helps share knowledge worldwide. Many international high impact journals nowadays have this option for their readers.
