Due to the lack of broad algae market in Iran and this image's information, do you think the activities in which the field (macroalgae or microalgae) is more necessary?
Microalgae: The first feed of almost any aquaculture finfish & shellfish varieties, the first feed is always the microalgae. In the absence of this, its hatcheries just don't move forward. The second feed of these larval stages, is the live zooplankton - whose feed is again specific microalgae - at least in good number of cases.
Iran has vast resources both on marine & freshwater ecosystems & these will need to be developed for the increasing population in the future.
Macroalgae: 1) Some of the marine algae, especially the Brown seaweeds can be used for development of liquid tonic fertilizer - to be used in the healthy growth of terrestrial plants including Horticultural products, even though cereals also benefit from it.
2) Some of them can be used as an additive in the preparation of aquacultural feeds & in mitigating the quality of offloading of aqua ponds.
Algae and microalgae are excellent aquatic food sources. They also serve as natural filters of nitrogenous wastes. The two types of algae are microalgae and macroalgae. Microalgae are unicellular organisms where as macroalgae are multicellular organisms with simply differentiated body parts. Thus, the main difference between algae and microalgae is the level of classification.
Classification of algae is shown in file here.
But in question you specifying asked about Iran, for this hope this link will help you.
Pirooz I think its rely on your position in Iran. If you have access to marine water and a lot of money to invest of course the best option is Macro algae! at least Iran need a lot of "Agar" witch you can produce from macro algae. otherwise the best option is micro algae especially Spirulina because its production doesn't need too much investment and there is vast market for it in Iran.
