Greetings.

I cannot find about each component's role of CHURCH buffer at southern blotting(detail, pre-hybridization). I did DNA microarray but never have ever southern blot.

In microarray, pre-hybridization buffer have 1% BSA, too. so I thought it is blocking agent for prevent probe's combination to blank area(which not exist DNA), I forgot SDS's role... but I think same as microarray. phosphate buffer and EDTA, what they do at pre-hybridization?
