How can I measure tissues for RNA preparation without RNA dergadation?

Greetings.

I extracted RNA at mouse liver and human blood, but degradation occurs. I think, at mouse liver, too hard to measuring 50mg liver(I am newbie for animal tissue preparation) so spend several minutes. (human blood spend time for defreeze)

I want to ask sb for advice about how it faster animal tissue measuring and preparation.

What I think is Dithiothreitol. As it is water-soluble and does not form a precipitate. But, the thing is it contains sulphur which is quite hazardous to aquatic animals.
