My question is simple. If you increased the frequency of injections, do you think that the angiogenic properties or effects would be greater than if you only injected once?
In the article I link to, they injected prp once and evaluate after three months. If you injected prp every Monday and evaluated after three months, would this possibly or probably increase angiogenesis?
Everything has a toxic effect if the dose is high enough. In tumors, cell produce excessive amounts of angiogenesis stimulating factors like VEGF and Ang2 and look what kind of vesicles you have in a tumor. Twisted, brittle and clearily handicapped vessels. They have blind ends, they either thin so much the erythrocytes get damaged by friction or create wide passages that enable blood to pool in them without circulation. The walls are either so thick that no oxygen and substrates penetrate them or they are so thin that they leak and create areas of hightened pressure. In AMD, improper vessel construction makes them to fragile to handle the task so they burst creating little hemmorhages damaging the retina. To acheive proper angiogenesis with everything functional you need a balance of pro and anti-factors. That is my oppinion on the topic:)

Probably yes, up to a point... but often beyond a certain point, stimulatory effects are going to be counter-balanced by other mechanisms or they will hit the upper end of the spectrum beyond which no further improvement (even without potential counter-balance) is possible.
And then, as Tomascz pointed out, above a certain dose there is the potential of toxicity!
All this for for growing hair - what a waste of resources.
Yes, I do believe so. Blunt trauma is one of the cause to induce angiogenesis. One large dose of angiogenic factor does not guarantee more angiogenesis since the receptor may simply overwhelmed or saturated.

I believe that you need to hit the best concentration for sufficient angiogenesis.You do not want over angiogenesis to happen.The concentration of pro-angiogenic growth factors in PRPs from various lots can vary.The only way you would know for sure is to try your way(every monday) V/S the single dose way.

Thanks alot you guys. I agree that too frequently may cause a sort of immunity or even dependency on the injections for growth factors. I dont think however every two and a half to three weeks is too frequent, do you?

Do not think so but then you need to know the half life of the factor. Not an easy question to answer for sure.
If you would target neoangiogenesis,then you would be trying to regenerate non-existent or poor vasculature.In that case intravenous will be a bad option to consider.multiple Intra-muscular injections around the area of injury is the best way.
