I'm doing a Master dissertation. And my research aim is to investigate how individual factors in the workplace such as intrinsic motivation, proactive personality etc impact employee creativity mediated by unlearning (the process of abandon old, out-dated knowledge and skills to learn new ones. I just explained briefly).
And after data testing in SPSS, the data showed that unlearning can not work as a mediator. According to this situation, could anyone kindly give me some advice what should I do now to find out the problems and solve it? And will this research be unsuccessful and lesss worthwhile to study? Thank you all!

I have 5 independent variables and two of them can work with mediator(unlearning) if I test independent variable individually, but if I put them together into a box together to test with mediator, mediator failed to mediate the realtionship between independent variale and depedent variable.

When I find myself in such situations, I ask myself "What did I assume was true that's not supported by the data?" This givesme the opportunity to question my assumptions and do further research to see what I can learn. Since "unlearning" is not an especially developed concept, that could be a good place to start analyzing your assumptions.
Well, it would have been better if your mediator had been significant. However, there may have been many readons why your mediator was not significant.
Maybe you have too many variables in your study and your sample was small. Or there was collinearity, meaning your independent variables may have been measuring the same things as your mediator.
To know whether sample size is correct, use G power sidtware. For collinearity, use Variance Inflation Factor.
