Actually I want to form TiO2 nanowire. I want to use titanium butoxide as precursor, but most of the paper, authors used titanium isopropoxide. I want to know there is any significant change we can observe for the precursor used??
Titanium isopropoxide is obtained from sec-alcohol .During the reaction it is converted in to ketone & hydrogen will be the source of the proton in the reaction. However , Potassium t-butoxide will act as a base only, it has no source of hydrogen. During conversion of TiO2 into naowires is there any chemical change occurs(Reduction). Are some side reaction entities formed ? Please check this & then use Titanium butoxide.
