Patients with hepatitis B should be dialysed in a different location than HBV negative patients. HBV is highly transmissible.
In a Heart Transplant programs, they found HBV infection being associated with undergoing a procedure in the same room, in which an HBV positive individual underwent a procedures.
In dialysis units, the separation of HBV from non-HBV patient is part of the required infection control, together with hand disinfection, and changing gloves.
Dear I support the idea of having a separate dialysis machine for hepatitis B negative patient to Hepatitis B positive patient because it is highly contagious.
