my article has been accepted in springer nature publication journal but it is ESCI , so what is possibility of ESCI to be convert in SSCI or how many time it will take to converting in SSCI?
Hi Uma. Whether a journal will be considered for SSCI depends mainly on its estimated Impact Factor. I attended a webinar last year where they informed that:
(a) re-evaluations are prioritized for journals that display high citation performance;
(b) they monitor ESCI journals and re-evaluate them when indicators show that the impact criteria may be met;
(c) journals that have the estimated JIF on Q1 or Q2 of the relevant category are prioritized for re-evaluation;
(d) the re-evaluation process starts at the editorial triage stage (the second step of the four-step process). Journals are re-evaluated for quality first; impact evaluation is subject to quality being met.
I imagine that now they will also use the JCI indicator for spotting ESCI journals for SSCI/SCI - specially JCI > 1.0 - above the average of the field.
