A journal which had indexed for scopus from 2018 to 2019. Article was submitted to journal in 2019. While the time of acceptance letter (March 2020), journal website had removed scopus from its indexing. Kindly advise whether the scopus will be issued to journals on a yearly basis?
If it happened then the journal was never worth publishing with
Scopus would have communicated with the journal about discontinuing the journal. The content of the journal until that date would be updated in the Scopus.
Thank you for your question. Journals that do not continue to sustain the standards and the requirements of the listing databases such as Scopus and Web of Science may be removed from listing. This is usually bad news to the Editor, and the journal and the authors of articles. Often, the Editor will work on gaining back the confidence of the database and present evidence that issues of the journal are published in paper or online or both on time. Also, citations and quality of peer-review and other requirements are fulfilled. The database may need evidence for 2-3 years to agree to re-list the journal again. There is nothing you can do.
I don't think there is much to do in your situation. In your place if the database was what attracted me most than the journal itself I would speak to the editor in chief and request withdrawal before publication or ask if the manuscript can be transfered to a Scopus journal.
It is a rare situation, but if it occurs, just as Alain Mwamba Mukendi said speak to the editor in chief and request withdrawal before publication or ask if the manuscript can be transferred to another journal.
I think it will be in the interest of the author to withdraw the manuscript and find an alternative Scopus or WoS indexed journal.
