I have a Canon EOS 700D EF-S 18-135 IS STM Kit. It has a lack of closeup shots for small insects. I would like to purchase a macro lens or close up with clear close up shots capacity. I went through the internet search and got some ideas. And at the same, if anyone has reconditioned or used macro lens for the above.

I highly recommend you the EF 100 f/2.8 macro lens (much cheaper than the new version IS L). You will easily find it used on photography forums for a good price. Sigma and Tamron also propose good things. For very smal insects, you may use extension tubes (Kenko). And above all, don't forget the light... good ambient light or some flashes with light diffusors/reflectors.

The 100mm lens recommended by Marc is an excellent lens and allows 1:1 macro function from a distance . . . good for subjects that will escape on approach. Another excellent lens is the Canon 60mm macro lens, also providing 1:1 macro function. The 60mm lens is better when you can get close to the subject . . .less requirement for stabilization because it is not a portrait (short telephoto) lens. Another thing to consider when comparing the two lenses, is the on-board flash. You can use the camera body's flash at 1:1 with the 100mm lens but not with the 60mm lens (at close range, the flash fires over the subject). An off camera flash is better for both lenses since you have control over the angle, intensity and distance of the flash/subject.
EF 100 f/2.8 is a nice choice for 1:1 Macro. if you have more budget L series offer better Build quality and IS. If you want more than 1:1 buy MP-E 65mm it can give you 5x magnification. Extension Tube is also a good and cheap option.
Another possibility is to use Raynox DCR-250 Macro Lens. It is possible to atach this lens to the front part of your EF-S 18-135 IS or other lens. You can also combine Raynox maco lens with ordinary lens and extension tube.
I do not know what level of magnification you need but I use for bir close-ups a I use a Canon MP-E 65mm 1-5x. This is a super macro lens.
