I think we should check the atmosphere by testing the filters of air condition maybe there is a carrier in the air holding this virus. the test of air condition filters or face masks could indicate the content of the virus in the moisture water particles held on-air.
Its doable; not trivial though. Not sure about utility of testing filters in the building, but testing individual face masks would be interesting (the dream would be to have a quick readout- eg color change)

In my opinion, to protect humanity from such a pandemic like COVID-19 we should develop a new standard for atmosphere tests. Moreover, suspicious food products especially fresh foods like fish and chicken should be tested somehow also.
