I found the beetle in the photos (follow my dropbox link bellow) in the Island of Porto Santo, Madeira Archipelago. It was collected at night attracted to light. It looks like an Anobiidae but I'm not being able to identify it. Any oppinions are welcomed!

This specimen is definitively of Ptilodactyla sp. 1-3 spp. are known from your area.
Hi Dimitry, My area is Macaronesia. Are you sure that several species of Ptilodactyla are known from this area. I'm not aware of that and the available lists of Madeira, Canary Islands, Azores and Cape Verde does not mention the presence of the genus or even the family.
Congratulations! A very interesting record. I found several Ptilodactyla spp. in German warmhouses which are unpublished so far. The identification was difficult and I used a large number of publications and specimens of institutional collections so far. My results are that we have Ptilodactyla exotica, P. nitida and two species of an unclear status in Germany. Old notes on the appearance of P. luteipes are incorrect. We have also some old field records at night from Germany. The genus strongly needs to be revised. The male genital should be used for an exact ID.
Thanks Thomas for your input on the presence of Ptilodactyla spp. in Germany. Very interesting! There must be a lot of unpublished data on the presence of these spp in several European countries. Fauna Europaea website does not list any of them.
There are at least 3 species of Ptilodactyla known from Macaronesia, but only P. exotica is published for this region. Another records are not yet published.
