If the analysis is performed with the dispersed sample, you may obtain a more distinct ZIF-8 structure.

I have been stuck on this for a while now, EDX confirms the presence of key elements, XRD confirmed high crystallinity, EIS was successful also. For DLS I have dispersed it in ethanol where the average solvodynamic-size was around 300nm, quite high or maybe reasonable. But I undersand you suggestion. The SEM gives you a good picture of the stuff you obtained. The method is to characterize and there is no use to manipulate the stuff to get nice pictures.
