Ioannis Samaras Dear Sir, I am doing linear sweep voltammetry in this potential range, in order to study dezinfication of my brass sample in three electrode set-up.. I applied this potential range because this is the active region of zinc to dissolve from brass surface. But the current response which I obtained is difficult for me to comprehend as I am applying the potential range which is the active region for zinc to dissolve but I am getting positive and negative current at the same time in my graph. What does it mean, I need explanation for it. Plz help if possible.

Since your LSV experiment has a potential window that goes from negative (-1V) to positive (+0.2V), it is likely that you will get a current that follows the same trend, so this is not unusual.

(/supposed to be) an actual potential[2] range, then you should (have to) note, explicitly[2,3], here, in your reply, (what is/was) your (standard) reference electrode (RE).
