A start would be the Global Precipitation Climatology Centre's monthly precipitation dataset (1901-present), available at NOAA http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/data/gridded/data.gpcc.html#detail or from the Deutscher Wetterdienst http://www.dwd.de/DE/Home/home_node.html . Check NASA for satellite data; http://www.nasa.gov/content/earth-missions-list .
Hi fellow researchers, I need a research partner in drought research that uses drought indices, I have some data that can be used in drought analysis for research articles, Anyone out there?
Recently I added 4 centennial-long global gridded Data-sets of the SPI-1, SPI-3, SPI-6 and SPI-12 obtained from the GPCC, ERA-20C, "Terrestrial Precipitation: 1900-2010 Gridded Monthly Time Series of the Department of Geography of the University of Delaware" and NOAA-CIRES 20CR at ftp://xeo.cfd.meteo.bg/SPI/ for free download. See the readme for details.
