Need some assistance with peptide nomenclature. Have scoured the net and some text and cannot find an explanation as to what the "H-" stands for at the beginning of the peptide for H-D-Val-Leu-Arg-AFC.
Yes, as Małgorzata said, both are equivalent. Yo might also find H-peptide-NH2 meaning that the C-terminus is as an amide, or H-peptide-OH (C-terminus as free acid) and Ac-peptide is also very common (N-terminus acetylated). There's a very good section on peptide nomenclature in:
