If your pcr machine has adjustable pressure then the lid may be set to come down too far and it is putting too much pressure on the tubes and caps so when the tube heats up it deforms and there is leakage and evaporation past the badly fitting lid, Slacken the lid setting so that it presses less firmly on the tubes when in use
If leaking is an issue, an old-school fix is to put oil in each PCR tube to prevent evaporating. It's not common anymore (as most PCR machines have heated lids). It forms a lipid barrier on top of your aqueous sample. Makes for slightly messy gel rigs as you basically get an oil slick (some oil sticks to the pipet tip when you load your gel). If anyone has any PCR oil hanging out in a cupboard you could give it a try (science labs hardly ever get rid of actual supplies).
I'd try a different brand of lids/tubes first and check to make sure the tubes are deforming.
