There may be two possibilities Ist there is contamination of plasmid from yeast or secondly due to mechanical shearing of chromosomal DNA, you are seeing fragmented pieces of DNA. If you can provide data of their molecular weight, it would be more specific.

It could be due to the isolation protocol. If you have some super coiled DNA it will run faster than DNA that is not super coiled.

I think mechanical shearing of genomic DNA might be best reason.
