There are eight patients from two hospitals in Iran and two patient from Iranian hospital Dubai. All severe asphyxiated full-term neonates with APGAR 1-3 in the first minute and 1-5 at fifth.
A morbidity and mortality study should be considered. The optimum would be a serie of at least 30 patients (to obtain statistically significant results). However, having only 10 patients, it is advisable to do an Exploratory Study, that is, introductory to a larger study in the future. The recommended statistical tests would be chi square and the risk estimate.
i agree, 10 cases may be relevant to evaluate your own outcome, but indeed limited when compared to the eg the whole body cooling studies. Please describe also your 'common practices' on ventilatory, neurological/seizures, or nutritional practices
