The Lean Manufacturing/Management concepts are being applied in various fields. The scope is continuously widening with the identification & elimination of wastes of lean in manufacturing, management, education, administration, governance, environment, natural resources, office management, supply chain management and so on. The Lean Practices address the multiple categories of wastes and in one or the other way, all practices address the major issues which are identified by Adam Smith in his book i.e "The Wealth of Nations".
How will you relate "Wastes of Lean" with the issues highlighted by Adam Smith in "The Wealth of Nations"?

Adam Smith argues that wealth is based on resources that support productive work, such as natural resources, labor, capital, etc. World pre-oparation is currently focused on the environmental impact, to achieve a sustainable global economy for at least another century.
This is my contribution.
Waste of Lean is super essential. It helps to improve efficiency, effectiveness, profitability and productivity. This is achieved by focusing relentlessly on eliminating all aspects of the manufacturing process that add no value from customer’s perspective.

In my opinion, Adam smith focused on the various categories of resources inclusding the natural resources and emphasized the effective utilization of these resources. The wastes of lean are also focused on the effective utilization of resources at all stages of and ultimately serves the purpose of Adam Smith's concepts of wealth of Nations.
