Hello all, I want to modelling a Concrete Beam with ABAQUS, My intention is that first beam cracked and then the FRP, apply to beam and analysis continue. can you help me?
1. homogeneous concrete and making hole in this cubic and make solid pipe or bar
2.modeling in solid works two parts (bar and matrix)
You can model the beam using solid nonlinear 3D brick element, then add the FRP as thin shell element covering the beam elements. The thin shell element should be given a certain time for birth T2. Run the model until the first crack happened, record the time as T1, and give the time for birth to the thin shell element as T2 = T1 + dt, use small values for dt to ensure that the thin shell element will appear right after the first crack happened.
Model Concrete block as brick element and FRP as shell element. Hope this may help you in getting the solution.
hi, I am trying to model 3D pretensioned beam with 3D FRP tendons. I used option 2 mentioned by Soheil. However, my results doesn't seem logical. Can someone please send any .inp file for any such simulation?
